Alastair Lee is possibly climbing's most unique stand-up act.
His lectures are well known for their eclectic mix of comedy, heart on sleeve emotion, as
well as award winning film and photography. Outspoken and entertaining
(bring back the drum-kit!), Alastair's comic view on the climbing community
and press is represented in his live shows, culminating in his latest film
Set In Stone winning both the Best Film and Peoples Choice Award at the
Kendal Film Festival 2006.
Alastair
has climbed in six of the world's continents but has little
ambition to visit the seventh. Alastair has written and
published two climbing guide-books and three photographic
books. In his 6th year of lecturing Alastair is currently
touring schools with ‘The Essence of Life’ and
Mountaineering clubs/Mountain Film Festivals with his stand
up show ‘Storms of Laughter’.
As a
filmmaker of 5 international awards, Alastair has also made
six movies so far: "Made in China" 2001 20mins,
"Climbing in Morocco" 2003 28mins, "I Am Climbing"
2004 14mins, "Twice Upon a Time in Bolivia" 2004
50mins, and "Storms: The Movie" 2005 34mins. Alastair runs his production company Posing
Productions, and resides in the peoples republic of
Burnley.
